We had the pleasure of trying out tacos at Chamordors in Villa Mexicana yesterday afternoon, a super quaint plaza just off first street in the tourist district. Situated next door to Hostil Burger (my favourite burgers are here) you’ll find the small taco stand.
When we moved to Ensenada 5 years ago this plaza was starting to come to life, now years later it has a great choice of colourful eateries, all with a mix of trendy and traditional in one hub.
Bursting with flavour, the choices of tacos at Chamordors were overwhelming. We tried all seven of the available tacos, and being so good I actually remember the whole order (even our toddler loved them too, which is always a relief)!
The cabeza taco was the standout among all of them. It was cooked and served differently to any other cabeza I’ve ever tried. It was braised rather than steamed which made all the difference. The gravy made it extra special.
The chicharron taco was a close second. It was served as succulent chunks of pork.
However, the true star of the show and probably one of the best sauces at any taco stand, was the mayonnaise, cilantro and habanero sauce that made each bite of every taco at Chamordors something to behold!
Next time you’re in Ensenada, pop over to Villa Mexicana behind first street and grab an excellent taco from Chamordors!
